Savannah’s food landscape has its own seasonal rhythms and local varieties. Sometimes this is a source of joy, but at other times we’re left scratching our heads wondering, “How do I cook this?” These recipes feature some the more “head-scratching” ingredients as well as mainstays with the hope of inspiring seasonal shopping, cooking, and eating.
Why another food blog?

Buying and cooking with local food connects up more deeply to our surrounding landscape. At farmers’ markets we can purchase varieties of fruits, vegetables, meats, and other products only found here.

Savannah is surrounded by excellent farms providing the city with food that is delicious, of the highest quality, freshly harvested, and grown in a way that restores and improves the land.

In the midst of COVID-19 our health and nutrition should be of the utmost importance so that we can build up our immune systems. Additionally, local farmers need us more than ever.
